Our story began in Soho, London, where founder Alex Carlton sold homemade smoothies from the back of his smart car. Bartenders quickly embraced the quality and convenience of these liquids, which helped them save time and explore new drinks recipes. Listening closely to their needs, Alex developed a range of premium single-fruit purées. These products offered bartenders greater control and ease, helping them craft exceptional drinks without the hassle of preparing fresh fruit.

In 2001, FUNKIN’s passion fruit purée played a pivotal role in the creation of the UK’s most beloved cocktail, the Pornstar Martini. Crafted by the legendary Douglas Ankrah, this collaboration is testament to the ingenuity we are proud to support.

Whilst we’ve long outgrown the boot of Alex’s smart car, our entrepreneurial spirit remains strong as ever. Spotting our silver pouches in bars and venues across the UK and Europe inspires us to continue relentlessly innovating. Over the years, we’ve expanded our range to include syrups, real-fruit liqueurs, pre-batched mixers, and ready-to-drink serves—all trusted by bartenders and cocktail enthusiasts alike.
